Post Conference / Future Meetings

We encourage our clients to meet with us [by phone] immediately after the IEP meeting has been concluded. It is at this telephone conference that we discuss the results of the IEP meeting and how the parent’s agenda was received by the district’s team.

In the vast majority of cases, we discuss our successes and their implications to the IEP document and the overall impact to the child’s special education program. That said, there are only two things that come out of an IEP meetings, consensus or dispute. And, from time to time, meetings do not go as planned, and the discussion necessarily moves in the direction of dispute resolution or a complaint for due process.

Keep in mind, there is nothing easy about generating a beneficial IEP for any child; it’s hard work. Nevertheless, it is the work that must be done. All too often, parents are forced to accept less. All too often, parents end up walking away from tens of thousands of dollars in important supports and services for their child. Don’t be one of those parents. We know you need help. We are here to give you that help.

“The objective of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” ~ Robert Hutchins
